You think you love That Thing You Do! now, wait’ll you see the new extended cut:

It’s actually longer that what’s listed: 146 minutes (with about 10 of those being closing credits).  Btw, pay no attention to the guy in the footnote, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

    Look here:

  2. Hey Bet, I almost did “What’s He Got?” by The Producers. But, like you, I was troubled that they answered it for us (“He’s got you, that’s what he’s got, that’s what he’s got—HEY!”) Plus, I was at a loss for a good answer song.

I considered “Whatever Lola Wants” by Sarah Vaughan, the implication being that he’s got whatever Lola wants. That would also have been a good sellout song, having been featured in a Levis commercial in the late ‘90s.

Okay, I’m going to stop now before this spirals into a never-ending comment.

  3. Kevin says:

Hey where am I? It’s cold and dark and I can’t feel my toes! Talk about a fucking lowlight…

  4. ThePete says:

You haven’t consumated the relationship with Stripe?

    WHAT ARE YA WAITING FOR??

The theme to the new Galactica series can’t really be sung, I agree, but it’s very exciting none the less.  Lots of drums—which always fires me up.  The score for the series is also heavily influenced by Scottish music, so, as a Scottish American wink I am biased.

As for the Doctor Who theme, it actually is a song (sorry, Bet) and is singable even!  The newest version is quite fun to listen to.  Really fires one up for adventuring through time and space. smile  Yes, it’s true, I’m a GEEK.

I agree with you on the Hitchhiker’s theme—it’s actually called “Journey of the Sourcerer” by the Eagles, and is a ringer on my cell phone (along with the new Doctor Who theme).

    Star Trek theme lyrics:

Beyond the rim of the starlight,
my love is wandring in star flight.
    I know he’ll find
    In star clustered reaches
    Love, strange love
    A starwoman teaches.

I know his journey ends never.
His Star Trek will go on forever.
    But tell him while
    He wanders his starry sea,
    Remember,
    Remember me.

You must think I just make this shit up!

“Brick” is great.  I completely agree with you on the “4 stars” thing.

Been there on the wiped iPod front. 🙁  That sucks.  I’ve lost the contents of both of my iPods at least once.  I also keep them both set to manual and the losses were always due to bugs in the iPod software updates.  Always beware the updates!  Wait a week or two and check ilounge.com or tuaw.com to see if the updates are buggy or not.

I enjoyed alternate tracks!  I’m sorry I wasn’t able to make time to join in the fun.  Hopefully I’ll be invited again smile

Bet didn’t finish with her “and I am Bet” redux thing!

  5. LilyG says:

Well, if numbers are what you want—here’s one.  4876. Discuss.

  6. Kellie says:

Bet, Wow – wish I could have seen the marching band doing the Bandstand Boogie.

Stennie – absolutely loved your impersonation of Bet hating Green Acres.  That made me smile.

All things considered.  Stennie – very nice.

    I loved Encyclopedia Brown.
