Ladies, ladies – of course there is a way to create energy where there is none. It’s called “drugs.”

Look, they aren’t actually going to kill off the Gecko – I mean, they are an insurance company. If he dies, they have to pay someone off.

Maizure and traizure – I hear that a lot from the folks from southern Indiana. They also say crick (creek). Have I mentioned that I’m not a fan of Indiana?

I didn’t fare too well on the song quiz this time:

My guess for 1969 is Hush, and is that Led Zeppelin?

1973 is the Carpenters – It’s Yesterday Once More. Betster, you weren’t even close.

1982 is Gloria – Laura Brannagan or some such.

Geez!!! I totally forgot to check the location of the Moonlight Drive-in that I posted. Rats!!

Oh, BTW… I totally dig the reference to my whole name (Sal Gomez) but to my friends such as those from the Hucklebug, plain old SAL will do just fine.

Hey I almost forgot. I’ll have some pictures and video from our last tailgate party at the Mission Tiki Drive-in up soon on http://www.socaldims.com.

There are some new video releases this week. You gals have any recomendations?

You forgot the most obvious song (okay, to me) for this week’s episode—“Sit on My Face” by the Pythons.  And I didn’t say I wouldn’t take George, but I’m just thinking he’ll be awfully hard to buy with money. We’ll have to think of another commodity.

As much as I love George, you can stop after Ocean’s 11. Twelve was meh, and thirteen had Al Pacino completely chewing the scenery. What happened to Al? It’s so sad.

You’re completely right on 1981—it is the Greatest American Hero. That one I actually knew. And I suck too. That’s too hard.

  5. Sal says:

    Bet,

Is this the Moonlight you were speaking of?

  6. Mike says:

Maybe whatever we do to Bet for not liking Stanwyck we can do to Stennie for hating the awesome Glenn Ford.

Quiz results: not so hot.  I’ve got the scores as Bet – 6, Stennie – 4, Bet + Stennie – 2, Michelle – 2.  Then you figured out three more at chat:

1966: Red Rubber Ball – The Cyrkle (Bet, Stennie)
1967: The Rain, The Park And Other Things – The Cowsills (Bet)
1968: Those Were The Days – Mary Hopkin*
1970: The Rapper – Jaggerz (Bet)
    1971: She’s A Lady – Tom Jones*
1973: Yesterday Once More – The Carpenters (Michelle)
1974: You Make Me Feel Brand New – The Stylistics (Bet)
1976: I’d Really Love To See You Tonight – England Dan & John Ford Coley (Stennie)
1977: Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue – Crystal Gayle (Stennie)
1978: Baker Street – Gerry Rafferty (Bet)
1979: We Are Family – Sister Sledge*
1980: More Than I Can Say – Leo Sayer (Stennie)
1981: Believe It Or Not (Theme From The Greatest American Hero) – Joey Scarbury (Bet)
1982: Gloria – Laura Branigan (Michelle)
1983: Jeopardy – Greg Kihn Band (Stennie)
1984: Somebody’s Watching Me – Rockwell (Bet, Stennie)
1985: Raspberry Beret – Prince (Bet)

    Still unidentified:

    1969
Better get ready,  gonna see the light
Love, love is the answer and that’s all right
So don’t you give up now, so easy to find
Just look to your soul and open your mind

    1972
I can’t sleep at night for wanting to hold her tight
Ooh, I’ve tried so hard convincing myself
This feeling just can’t be right, and I’m telling you…
    (hint: a family band)

    1975
I keep your picture upon the wall
It hides a nasty stain that’s lyin’ there
(hint: there’s a middle section in this song that used to creep me the crap out…still does, honestly)

  7. Sal says:

    1975 – 10cc’s “I’m Not In Love”

1972 – Cornelius Bros & Sister Rose “Too late to turn back now”

    Can’t figure out 1969.

Bet, sorry for being mucho incompetente with the drive-in search.
