Thanks for phlegming it up at the very beginning.

It set the tone for the whole show.

  2. Sal says:

Well I guess I posted too late for your last podcast so instead of repeating everything I typed out last time I just leave this for your browsing pleasure.

    Feel better, Betster.

So what’s the plan for Oscar night this year? Do we have a drinking game? I thinking that I shall miss it this year, either that or it will be the Monkey’s first tv show on his first night at home. (“Pay attention kid—black tuxes only with a simple bow tie. Oh, and she should NOT be wearing that color. No, that lady does not want to give you breakfast, she’s just falling out of that dress” And so on.) On the other hand, if I have decided not to breast feed him, it may be the first time in a long time where I could have a stiff drink, which I think I’m going to need.

Suggestion—drink every time someone makes a bad joke about the writers’ strike. Drink any time Angelina or George gets a mention as a UN envoy.

    Mmmmm. French toast.

Actually, I was making an “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” reference.  There’s a moment where Indy sees Nazis for the first time in the movie and says “Nazis… I hate these guys.”

And I don’t mean to suggest your mom is a Jesus Nazi in that she kills Jews who don’t believe in Jesus.  I meant it more in the Seinfeldian “Soup Nazi” kind of way in that she’s unreasonable to expect you believe in Jesus.

Aaaand I was also being sarcastic wink

My aunt got me talking about religion with her, a few years back, and asked me why I was an Atheist.  So, I told her that I haven’t found a religion that I agree with yet.  Now, every time I see her she asks me if I’ve settled on a religion yet and reminds me of how important it is that I choose a faith.  Though, she never tells me *why* it’s important to choose a faith. o_O

Hey, here’s a random question for you guys, what do you think of remakes?  Either movies getting remade or TV shows getting remade?  As I type this, a new TV movie version of the classically bad TV show “Knight Rider” is airing tonight on NBC.  They’ve now seen that show remade four times—“Knight Rider 2020”, “Team Knight Rider”, this new movie tonight and there was one other really crappy TV movie that had the KITT computer stuck inside a 57 Chevy.

Why do I remember these things?

Oh and last week’s comment was short because I was listening to the HB away from my computer.  I would have said more but by the time I got back to my laptop I had forgotten it all.  Damn dishes have got to be done some time!!

If I can suggest a Fuck-Off to Congress for passing a(nother) law banning torture.  It’s shocking to me that America even needs to have this discussion, let alone passing a(nother) law that bans torture.  Wouldn’t it have been better to enforce the anti-torture laws already on the books?

    Isn’t it “svengali” not “svengouli”?

Yay, Dishy!  You rocked!  Your kazoo-imitating skills are INCREDIBLE!  It’s as though you *had* a kazoo!

  5. Michelle says:

Why Thank you, ThePete! I really enjoyed doing the podcast and talking to the ladies. And you’re right, it is Svengali – I get that confused with our b-movie presenter on local late-night TV, The Son of Svengouli.

Lily, you are on notice: you may not talk about the bodily functions involved in raising a child when I am in the audience. I wish you and the little one the best of luck, but please, be kind to the squeamish!

I hope Bester is feeling better this week! Believe you me, Stennie really did a lot of editing on that podcast to get rid of all the coughing.

  6. Michelle says:

I know you guys didn’t hucklebug at all this week, but I’m still hoping for a surprise episode!

  7. Kellie says:

Thanks for feeling my decorated overalls pain.

Stennie – Your shake story totally sucks.  Don’t you hate going through the drive-thru when they act like “why would you double-check?  why would you think that we didn’t give you what you asked for?”  Yeah right!  The thing I hate worst in the world is getting home with the wrong food in the bag.  Hi Stennie’s dad!  I hope you had a good visit!

Bet – dang, sorry you are still sick!  Betland comment – great job with your dresser & shelves!

Dishy – Welcome!!  I love that you picked a Bryan Adams song – then decided you didn’t like it!  That sounds like my life lots of time – I like the comradery (is that a word?)!

LilyG – hope all is well!!!  Do we get to see pictures of the Monkey???  Did he(???) like the Oscars??

  8. Laptops says:

    Gotta love Hucklebug!
