I forgot to try the quiz, so here are my answers for the various Hucklebuck variations:

Frank Sinatra, Otis Redding, Arthur Hodgson and the Kneecaps, Lloyd Fletch and His All-Male Orchestra, Mulligan Stew, The Silver Platters, The Norm Wooster Singers, Happy Kyne and the Mirth Makers, and Dimension.

    Don’t be hatin’ now! raspberry

Actually, Sten, when we saw you Saturday night (our going away party wasn’t a highlight??  I’m so sad!! wink ) we’d already canceled cable and turned in our router, so we couldn’t DL eps 99-101 until today when we were mentally coherent enough to remember to download new podcasts (it’s been a tiring several weeks!).  But three hours of HB today made the trip from Cheyenne to Omaha go MUCH faster.

But things were pretty hellish as my blog can attest—I was convinced that we could fit all our stuff into a rented minivan—boy was I *wrong*.  We HAD rented a minivan, but had to then rent a 16-foot moving van (all the 12-footers were already rented) and had enough space to bring our mattress and STILL had too much space in the damn thing.

It’s cool, though—we’re getting there.  Over halfway there at this point.  Sad we won’t get any more HB before NYC, though! 🙁

Did have a blast listening to the 100th ep, though—sorry I didn’t comment on it directly.  Congratulations on making it that far!!  Most of us podcasters die off much earlier—The 5 Minute Show only made it to 43 :(.  You guys have something that you can seriously be proud of!

What I think I like most about the HB is how you involve the listeners so much.  I think it’s great that you’ve even gone so far as to have so many of us listeners on the show.  It makes us feel like we’ve got something invested in it.  That’s a great thing!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
for having such an amazingly entertaining podcast.  It helped the long-assed drive through flatsville Wyoming and Nebraska go faster.

You ever need an opera version of the Hucklebuck song, let me know.

Seeing the heading for this episode made me wonder:  what would one learn in Hucklebug 101?

  5. Crystal says:

Heidi has assured me that there is no imbibing of alcohol before the show, but I must admit that I’m not convinced. Surely, the alcohol is flowing somewhere.

  6. Lily G. says:

Sitting here and listening while I’m drawing up information for my will. Thrilling, eh? Any of y’all want any of my stuff? I’m not sure if Nick-the-child-not-the-cancer will value some of this stuff.  Any of you want Nick?

The Duggars are the subject of a contentious thread on one of the message boards I read. It kind of gets down to whether using the phrase “God’s Will” absolves people from responsibility and common sense and whether her system of using the older kids to be totally responsible for the needs of the baby amounts to slavery and child abuse.

    Ha Mike – Hucklebug 101!  That’s a great one!

Stennie – I can’t believe I forgot about your Binary clock – my first thought was some piece of technology but it just wouldn’t come to me.

Damn – I thought it had something to do with the Egg story.  I talked myself out of that because you WERE looking for the egg.  I had forgotten the subtlety of the phrase! Ha!

I actually hadn’t finished all to way to the tag of the last show.  I laughed at the the normal cut – but I was completely giggly and out of control through the slow version.  Classic.  That will have to be repeated on the 200th!!

I love the Parent Trap – I am quite sunk if I click around and find it on TV.  I will watch for the duration.  I share a birthday with Susan & Sharon and Hayley Mills as a grownup did a short-lived TV show (although, I need to check the web and my memory – I think that it turned in to Saved by the Bell) called Hello Mrs. Bliss (my maiden name) or somesuch type of title.

    Have a great Hucklebug 102!

OK, completely off topic but I wanted to invite everyone to participate in our SoCalDIMS May tailgate drive-in trivia challenge scavenger hunt. Visit http://www.socaldims.com and click on the 2008 tailgate schedule page. The trivia challenge will be way too easy for this group but it might still be fun to try.
