All About Eve – Seen it. Great movie.

    George Sanders is always awesome.

    I love Dr. T too.

Stennie, you said you’d never rate a B movie more than 4 stars. What about “The Thin Man”?. It was a B movie, shot in only 2 weeks, and I seem to remember you rated it 5 stars. Galaxy Quest was also a minor movie that could be taken for a B. If I’m not mistaken even Casablanca was considered a B when it was released. Most film noir were B movies and many are top notch classics now. I guess what is or isn’t a B can be debated but maybe you want to rethink your position on B movies? Or do you want the Stink Eye from down south? I’m not afraid to use it either.

Are we playing “Where’s ThePete” now? You should post a map for us to examine. Maybe someone can spot him.

Mike was great. Keep doing the guest stars.

Another fine episode of Huckelbug. I’d give it 5 stars unless it’s a “B” podcast. Then only 4.

  2. Jane Walker says:

Bet’s voice sounds so familiar. Did she work in a cryogenics lab?

  3. P Pogo says:

Nice job, Mike. Your musical knowledge is amazing. Actually, each one of you has a great music IQ.

Re: the Brazil doc. Now I must cancel my vacation to Sao Paulo. Sigh, and I was looking forward to farming frogs too.

All About Eve, check. Though it was only recently. From my dashed-off review: “George Sanders as Addison DeWitt rocks my lame ass.”

Hmm. SOME advertising works. Ask the folks from GoDaddy.com. P.S. Just how much ARE you getting from the Magic Eraser people?

Please don’t make me make an entire CD mix of 1972 songs. I’d rather die.

Oooh, Tim Conway next week? He’s good in everything!

  4. Kellie says:

    Happy Memorial Day!

  5. Crystal says:

I don’t believe in the term “B movie” when used about the quality of a film. A movie is either great or it isn’t. I only notice budgetary limitations when the film is not very good.

The process begins!!  I’m slowly now catching up on my Hucklebugs—however, I actually started last Wednesday (a week after we got Internet at our new pad), but I’ll tell ya, a move like this keeps throwing stuff at ya weeks after you finish the actual moving part.

By the time you guys recorded this show we had arrived in the Big Apple.  The drive was pretty cool, actually—almost completely eventless.  Watch my blog for a quick and dirty recap any day now.

The city is amazing, predictably enough, though every step of the way after we got here was (and is still being) met with obstacles.  Stupid stuff, like Ikea delivering five of the wrong bookcases, delivery people not showing up when they’re supposed to, etc.

Once TheWife gets her desk we’ll set up her recording equipment and see if we can’t record a cover of Hucklebuck sang (sung?) by Sierra.

It’s funny that Bet mentioned Black Betty as an alternate because I was recently introduced to that song.  It’s got quite a history to it.  Thanks to that and it’s oddly ear-wormish qualities I’m semi-obsessed with that song.  I even named one of my laptops after it.  Go fig.

It was great to hear Mike on the show!!  Is he still blogless?

Yeah!  One down just six more Hucklebugs to go!!
