Finally got home, and I was thrilled to hear Bet’s sterling rendition of “Dirge Without Music.” She has a natural gift that she needs to nurture. I see public readings in her future.
Here’s a question for you: Is it acceptable for a woman to use the men’s restroom if the women’s bathroom is full and there’s a line? I say no because most women would be outraged if a man walked in to the women’s bathroom.
Should special parking spots for pregnant women be abolished? I say yes. I say single, childless women should get the better parking spots since we’re not adding to the overpopulation.
Something happened to my last post. I wanted to ask Bet if she remembered the Patty Hearst case. I’ve seen a lot about it since it’s been 35 years.
Fuck off to people who use staycation!
Conan, Jay, or Dave…Please say Dave!!!
Not Waving but Drowning
by Stevie Smith
Nobody heard him, the dead man,
But still he lay moaning:
I was much further out than you thought
And not waving but drowning.
Poor chap, he always loved larking
And now he’s dead
It must have been too cold for him his heart gave way,
They said.
Oh, no no no, it was too cold always
(Still the dead one lay moaning)
I was much too far out all my life
And not waving but drowning.
