I honestly don’t know if “Broadcast News” got any awards. All I know is that I enjoy it and I rather identify with the Holly Hunter character in that I too know how hard it is to always be right.

    sniff…

I hope Siskita doesn’t mind me mentioning the Pistachio Incident! >_O

Glad you guys enjoyed the Ice Cream videos with Jay and Kay! smile

I’m behind on my NaNoWriMo at just under 27k. That’s actually ahead if my goal is to do the minimum per day (1667 words) but Thanksgiving is going to fuck my shit all up, so I want to get ahead.  “Fuck my shit all up” is a technical prose-writers’ term that means “your shit? Look up there. That’s where it is. It’s fucked.”

OK, I don’t know what it means, I’m just scared of the day where I usually take great joy in eating way too much and sleeping a lot.

Say, do you ladies think “Barney Miller” stands the test of time? I haven’t seen it since I was a kid but I remember loving that show soooo much.

I hate radio DJs, too, and stopped listening to radio because of them.

Matewan is wonderful, Bet—I keep meaning to read more about that era. I’m particularly fascinated by the hired guns (Pinkertons?) portrayed in the movie.

Re: Google Wave, I have one last invite left—I have a tech-friend who may need it, but I’ll check with her and let you know.  If she doesn’t need it, it’s yours! smile  Google does a lot of cool stuff, but I’m hinky about what they do with what we do, you know? Data-mining and stuff like that.  Freaks me out a little.

Thanks for the You Rule—er—the Me Rule, er, the I Rule!

Is Jay really number one now??

I just checked and he’s the #1 for the first Colbert Challenge, but if you go to “all simulations” (which is tricky to find) and order it by “views” he’s #4 for all the of the interview simulations.  Still not bad!! smile  But thanks for the support, you guys!!  We at ThePalProductions salute you!

I got “Barracuda” and I’ve hardly ever played Guitar Hero…

    Are we the HuckleBugNation?

  2. 1979: “…It’s gonna take a lotta loooo-ove to change the way things are; it’s gonna take a lotta love or we won’t get too far…” I believe the artist is Nicolette Larson.

Sorry for not commenting the last few weeks. As Greg Brady would say, “something suddenly came up.” Or, in this case, out. ;^)

Speaking of which: Much as I want to do it, my participation in the great Hucklebug-o-rama is pretty iffy, but not completely out of the question. Do we have a timeframe in mind?

  3. siskita says:

I won’t mind doing the Hucklebug on Saturday night – after a rehearsal that ends at 6….gotta talk to @thePete

I am filled with the lyrics of a certain composer duo, plus some Christmas Carols – between the two of them we can certainly do Song Libs.  Gotta email the two of you soon….maybe this time (hint) I will email you a few songs each, so we can tell by the end whose mind is dirtier… raspberry

Finally!  I’m going to get my damn comment in before the next episode goes up.

Ok, so I want to do the audiobook thing.  I don’t care if it’s illegal.  My book will be The Princess Bride.  Only thing, though.  I don’t know how to go about it.  What do I need?  Stennie, wanna help me out here?

By the way, Stennie.  I tried to leave a comment a couple of weeks ago but it didn’t work.  Your rendition of the Miss Mayella Breakdown from A Movie nearly killed me.  If it had, I wouldn’t have been there to save Deuce’s life.  Thanks for the You Rule, by the way.

Have fun at the Round Table – I’ll be looking forward to hearing it!

  5. Krizzer says:

Whoops.  That last comment should have been from Krizzer.  I’m a dork.

  6. Marla Marla Marla says:

hey…am I too late?  I don’t know how this day got beyond me…oh, yeah, I’m feeding two hungry teenagers and it took hours to satiate them..

What I have wanted to say for two weeks now, is that I think your idea of having all potential political candidates take the citizenship test is brilliant.  Actually, I’m not sure half of those currently (or previously) in office would win on “you think you are smarter than a 5th grader”  My sister in law just took and passed her citizenship test.  Her “swearing in” ceremony is December 4.  Any ideas for the perfect gift?  (don’t be snarky, I really like her…)

Congrats again to Milo….you make your mama so proud!
