  1. Mike says:

The Best Years Of Our Lives is probably among my top ten movies and my traditional Veterans Day viewing.  The scene where Myrna Loy realizes that Fredric March is home just slays me every time.

Myrna Loy & Teresa Wright: hottest mother/daughter combo ever?

My top ten movies of the 90s.  I went with great movies I’ll always enjoy watching, rather than try to think of what was the best or best-made:

    1 Pulp Fiction
    2 That Thing You Do!
    3 Hard Boiled
    4 Goodfellas
    5 Chungking Express
    6 Before Sunrise
    7 Reservoir Dogs
    8 The Big Lebowski
    9 Schindler’s List
    10 Raise The Red Lantern

    Honorable mentions:
    Dazed And Confused
    The Commitments
    Glengarry Glen Ross
    Blue
    Eat Drink Man Woman
    Red
    Fireworks

I’m probably missing a lot of obvious titles, but that’s the list for today.

  2. Mike says:

And as great as Rudy is, I cannot in good conscience include it because it commits the unforgiveable sin of making me root for Notre Dame.

  3. Duke says:

I was wondering what everyone thought of this list for top 90’s movies:

    Miller’s Crossing
    Akira
    The Two Jakes
    Barton Fink
    Pulp Fiction
    Ed Wood
    Toy Story
    Leaving Los Vegas
    Jade
    Mulholland Falls
    L.A. Confidential
    Gattaca
    Ronin
    The Big Lebowski
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
    Pushing Tin

This isn’t my top list although there is some overlap. I think you could make a case for each of these movies in their respective genres. Any comments? What do you think?

  4. Thomas Brewster says:

Speaking of Barney Miller, what you get when Abe Vagoda Eric Estrada co star in a new comedy series?

    Fish and Chips
