Just for the episode description. Haven’t even listened yet.
Wow, I sure stirred the hornet’s nest implying Bet’s hot dog chili had beans. I’ve been pulling my curtains during the day in fear of a drive-by.
I’m sorry Bet, I shouldn’t have cast doubt on your hot dog heritage.
p.s. don’t go south of Ky and ask for a chili dog. It will have beans on it. They totally lack hot dog enlightenment in the south. They make up for it in BBQ goodness though.

Sweet! I can listen AND comment from the El!
Way back when I ate hotdogs. I ate them much as I ate everything – with ketchup. In Chicago, they eat them with celery salt, mustard, and a whole damn salad on top. Hot peppers, optional.
Switching to an underground line with no network now, so…
Ok, train not here yet so I have time to comment onburgers. Do veggie burgers count? I like BBQ sauce on mine. Some fried onions are good too and cheese is ideal! Fries are a vehicle for ketchup.
Come on! Spinach on pizza rocks! Especially on Chicago deep-dish pizza.
Ok, totally going underground now.
I’m mixed on Sarah Ferguson. She keeps doing stupid stuff, but she’s one of the few celebrities who when they get caught doing stupid stuff, admits it right away and doesn’t pull the “oh, woe is me, I was misinterpreted, the world is out to get me…” unlike some former sister-in-law of hers.
And give me a big yay—I’m converting my winter bedding (sheets plus duvet cover) to my summer set—clean crisp sheets on my bed. Nicholas won’t be able to drip sippy cups on them for a few more days. Yay!
Stennie’s eulogy / comments about Marla’s mom’s smile being her legacy was really something special. What a wonderful tribute.
Bet, I’m glad we snap on burgers and BBQ. I hope it maybe redeems me a bit for the (unintended) slighting of Matewan during the ‘80s movie thing. (For the record, it really is a great film and one of my favorites; but having not seen it until the late ‘90s, I tend to forget it was an ‘80s movie.) And if you ever make it back down this way, I’ll really try to make it out to meet up with you and buy you some hush puppies.
The two of you should create a game show that’s a combination of Name that Tune and the $20,000 Pyramid: one person kazees clues for the other to guess. You would totally own that.
Hey, just a quick note in defense of James Earl Jones—he’s not sitting home alone muttering “This is CNN” to himself—I recently read that he’s been recording GPS directions for a new dash-mounted GPS so you can have Darth Vader give you your turn-by-turns.
So, good for JEJ!
And I have to say that I’m all for Marla’s mom’s smile being the best family legacy! Good call you two!!
Favorite moment from this ep:
“No, no, no, don’t play it again.”
That made me giggle.
I’m behind thanks to the ‘net connection at home being tanked, but it’s back up after 12 days so I’m catching up!
