I guess I created some confusion with my yawl comment. That’s how people pronounce it but down here it’s almost always spelled “Y’all”. I wasn’t disagreeing with Bet. There’s no W in it but people say the W sound when they pronounce it.
I’ll be glad to provide the hot dogs for the hucklebug cafe. I can also whip up some homemade fudge for desert along with lemon pie. In fact, my suggestion would be to forget the food and just sell desert. Your meals sounded great but wouldn’t we all rather eat junk?
Be looking for your guest hosts. I hope you both enjoy the vacation.
I want my shout-out! Complete with shout-out song!
Here’s something I’ve always thought was a “southern thing.” Or “southern thang,” if you will. Calling your kids “it,” regardless of sex. “And how’s little Sheldon?” “Oh, it has a cold, I had to take it to the doctor.”
Anyone heard someone from another region do that?
Bet, I agree, the periodic table is great for a shower curtain. Siskita and I have the NYC subway map, which I think is cool—though not so much now that they’ve changed the map and discontinued at least one train line π
Stennie, you never answered the question of what would you like on your shower curtain! π
Bet, the reason I asked about the DVD is because, on every computer I’ve ever owned, youtube videos play like crap. They play for a few seconds and then stop and then start and the viewing experience is just shitty, in my opinion. And I hear you on giving DVDs to parents. I did a Jay ThePal compilation DVD for my folks and I have a feeling it’s never been watched :\
Bet, the Salad de Bet sounds delicious!
Houses in Christmas time smell? I guess I’m such a guy I’ve never noticed. :\
I’m unsnapping with Duke this week—I don’t want to just eat junk—Bet, Stennie, how about some healthy dishes for folks? I’d want to eat at the Hucklebug often, but if it only had junk food, it’d be much less often. I’d still hang out there, but only to mooch the free wifi.
Looking forward to these mysterious guest-hosts!!
WHO COULD THEY BE???
Bet listed like ten million salads that would be available at the Hucklebug cafe, so it’s hardly all junk food. If it will appeal more to you, I will also include my grilled chicken breast dish on the dinner menu, which is quite healthy, and I often make it with a side of cous-cous.
Wi-fi is for paying customers!
We will of course be serving fresh-brewed Sarkisian coffee.
My, aren’t we all so adult about healthy food? It might be the worst case of denial I’ve ever seen. I ain’t buying it but just keep on with your fantasy where a broiled chicken breast looks better than a hot, fudgie brownie with ice cream slowly melting down the sides or a fresh apple pie straight out of the oven. Yeah, keep telling yourself if no one were looking you’d say “heaven forbid I’d eat that brownie! Please give me some lettuce with fat-free dressing. I just love to eat healthy”.
I’m with Thepete..WHO COULD THE GUEST HOSTS BE?
How about a Hucklebug cook book!!!!!!
What’s a “hard bulled” egg?
It’s like a soft bulled egg only cooked a little longer.
You can give my new hair a you-rule. It’s short, has highlights, and is incredibly easy to take care of.
If Beethreet gets a you-rule I should too cause my hair is ditto.
I was trying to catch up on my listening last week and one of the times I was sitting still long enough to do that was while I was getting my teeth cleaned. I mean, how perfect, right? well not so much. The hygenist doesn’t like it when you laugh indescriminately. And besides, they have sharp things in their hands. So, still not caught up. Maybe this weekend.
I’ll be in the Bay Area for 24 hours this weekend where it’s 100 in the shade. Yeah, not a vacation.
Stay cool y’all.
<3
I for one welcome our new guest (and hopefully puppet-American) overlords!
I listened last night but forgot already. Did you cover desserts? Because I ain’t eating at a place that doesn’t serve a decent cheesecake or creme brulee.
Hmm. Shower curtains are easier to keep clean because you put a liner in it and when it gets too gross, you toss the liner and buy another three dollar liner. But in terms of what I like to be in a shower with, it’s a door.
I can come do dinner at the restaurant. I hate making breakfast foods—they’re tedious. If I get the dinner shift, I get to stew something all day. I can do the fried eggs, though. You need a non-stick pan. Chop up a little onion and use either butter or olive oil. Saute with a little of your favorite spice (I like ground thyme). When they’re nice and soft, crack the egg over the onions. I’ve never had one stick, and they have the nicest crispy edges.
