Regarding the “Burt Wonderstone” movie (co-starring No Less a Person than…), I remember reading that it had it’s exclusive premiere aboard Delta airlines. I’m not kidding–that’s what the inflight magazine said. So, I’m not sure how soon we should expect to see it anywhere but your next flight on Delta. >_<

Re: "Smoke Signals" I was still a projectionist when it came out and got to run it for a few film critics, so, that's how I heard of it. I don't think I would have heard of it otherwise or known what it was if I had heard of it.

I only mentioned "The Cook, the Thief, the Wife and Her Lover" out of snark. Sorry. I should have been more obvious about it. As Sten points out, like "Eating Raoul," "TCTTTWaHL" isn't really about "traditional" food. πŸ˜‰

"Tampon Story" has to be a chapter title in one of y'all's memoir.

Damn I liked “Dracula DALI” probably because I’ve seen every single Dracula-related movie that it makes fun of/emulates, so I might have appreciated it a bit more.

  3. Krizzer says:

Google me this, batmen: what’s the difference between jam and preserves?

  4. First of all, PFC just showed Big Night in conjunction with Ciao Thyme at the movies..where they serve a meal as in the film along with the movie…very foodie..$85-$100/ person…yeah..right..not me. Other films/dinners were for Chocolat and Waitress. I hear they were FAB-YOU-LUS. (again, not how I roll….)

I have seen the movies, I just like the food better in TS and JLS.

Stennie, I sent you a little something via email..working on my second You Rule of the year. πŸ˜‰ I can’t seem to find your email Bet….If you want a copy..let me know.

Wasn’t Amy Yasbek (or isn’t she) the widow of John Ritter? I am resisting the urge to look up whether she made that movie before or after he died (I think it was before) but I do recall she had lots of people saying what a comedic actress she is/was..I was never that impressed..at least on film.

Did you see this Marie-Noelle on Linked In…. here’s her link!! Do you know any school she went to??

I don’t have the paid for account to send her a message, nor do I understand what language this is in…

  5. Capt. A says:

I stopped watching the Kingsley movie because of all of the profanity. But it’s not the actual profanity that bothers me here or elsewhere, it’s the continual repetition that gets me. (I don’t care if it’s “culturally accurate” or not, and it wouldn’t matter to me what the word actually is.)

Kurt Vonnegut called this sort of thing “senile burping” because it’s so meaningless and so constant. Mark Twain railed against artless swearing; for him, swearing was a lost art.

I, myself, think of it as audible farting between every few words. I get sick of it to the point that I can’t filter it out.

Thanks for the “you rule,” but television (wait for it) …

…SUCKS GIANT GREEN WEENIES WITH PINWHEELS ON THEM!
