  1. omg Stennie I don’t know why we are friends…and YES we are friends. How can two people have SUCH different taste in movies? I really care about you so so much…but I am reminded about that survey of so many years ago where you could be matched (or mismatched) from your friends, based upon movie preferences….we should not be friends…or at least we should probably never go to the movies together….

    I LOVED “TOMMY”
I am working on an event for PFC (the theatre)…you don’t have to come. πŸ˜‰
(but there is hope…I also like “fish called wanda”….

Trendsetters that you two are, a number (greater than six) of people I know personally, professionally and distantly have recently started podcasts…. Since I didn’t listen to your episode 1-5 (yet) I can’t say with certainty but only by assumption that they will NEVER make it to episode 315, much less 100. You rock!

    Donna and Janet DO rule!!

And BTW….I can’t wait till Memorial Day Weekend…I have very fond/fuzzy memories of the BEST Block Party EVER back in the day with you Stennie.. (sadly, no more block parties….)

I finally got to listen to this weeks’ show on my drive this morning. Much to comment on, but I have to say, please listen to how Bet described Werther’s Original candy again. Pay attention. Much needed laugh, Bet. Thanks!

  3. Donna says:

Even though I had a long weekend last weekend when I went to Bluefield, still looking forward to long one here with Janet and the dogs.

Stennie, I had to google-map Mount Vernon to see how close it is to Bellingham. I’m glad you weren’t traveling on that bridge last night but that bridge collapsing has probably set Bet back lightyears in her fear of driving on them. Bet, you’re going to have to go the long way to Blacksburg now!

Stennie, have you been to Vancouver since moving back to B’ham? We’ve spent two nights there but the only full day we had was spent on train trip to Whistler so would love to go back.

I liked “Swiss Family Robinson” as a kid because I wanted to be in that family. Not sure what I would choose as an adult……..probably SFR for the same reason!

And since I don’t have time to re-listen to your description of the Werther’s, I don’t want to embarrass myself here so I will word this carefully……I really like the originals ones, but the soft ones; they are addictive. Not sure about the caramel apple ones, though.

    (Thanks for the YouRule MarlaMarlaMarla)

  4. In response (or pre-response) to the bridge collapse….

I have a very dear friend who is so afraid of heights (I’ve blanked on which phobia that is) she has not crossed a bridge or flown on an airplane for YEARS!!! I for one, am afraid of being under an overpass….ptsd from the bay area earthquake of ’89….

And a big FUCK OFF to the news reporters yesterday who could not think of anything “clever” or “informative” to say than “the water is very cold” . Wow. You got a degree in journalism for that?

AND BTW, did anyone but me see Wolf Blitzer’s idiotic question to the atheist? Oy.

  5. Janet says:

New release Disney movies always came out in England to coincide with the school summer holidays so I remember when we took our week at the seaside that the inevitable rainy day would be spent seeing said movie. Two I remember –The Love Bug and The Apple Dumpling Gang. But if I have a favorite, it just might be 101 Dalmatians because it’s English; and, it made me read the books, 101 Dalmatians and its sequel, Starlight Barking, which I loved.

As an adult, I’m not sure I like Disney or Pixar better but my favorite is probably UP! And, I love all three Toy Story movies.

  6. LilyG. says:

Glad to see that everyone seems to be okay. I wouldn’t have power windows for years because of the fear of not being able to roll them down if I went into the water.

If you need a topic for tonight, here’s one. Wes Anderson films are pretentious crap. Discuss. If he’d stopped after a couple of films, it might have been okay, but he’s totally stunted.

  7. Michelle says:

Ok. You know what I’m going to do? I’m going to make you a music lyrics quiz. I’ll have it ready for next week’s show. I even promise that all of the songs will be in English.

My favorite Disney move has been and will probably always be Lady and the Tramp. It may have been my first movie in a Theater. I love the story, I love the doggies, and I love the adventure.

I concur with MarlaMarlaMarla – Janet and Donna totally rule.

Arrested Development! I AM SO LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS! But I’m torn. If I wish Sunday to hurry up and come so I can watch it, then my long weekend is all used up.

  8. Patrick says:

Sorry, left my Disney film response on your Facebook page.

I’m behind in listening and am months behind for a movie mashup quiz, which I’ve got a feeling won’t be happening before end of June. Home repair, travel and keeping the kids from killing each other or themselves has proven pretty overwhelming, plus technology is at a premium now. Our computers, and iPad are either disassembled and/or occupied by children. And if I have to type out a movie quiz on my phone, it might take the entire summer. My apologies, ladies, but I promise to continue to listen, laugh and comment as life and my pornography addiction permit.

  9. Capt. A says:

Long ago, when I was a scientific supplies guy for BGSU, I asked my admin to order two dozen floppy disks.

The requisition went out with the first “s” replaced by “c.”

  10. Just Xu Xiaoya escorted to the lounge and saw a single Fei Jade just nod, single row Hongfei Gong Jing students ceremony, Teacher, I would go tomorrow, Dongyang City office, today is to bid farewell to your .
