It’s OK about the stupid Skittles walrus commercial–sorry you had to deal with it, Bet! Congratulations on the Roku, too! We love ours.

    YAY BUSTER!!

Great spam section! I got some of those same ones. So sadly amusing. πŸ™‚

I would like to nominate a video for video of the week (and not just because I shot it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zv1fR5ZoORw

Sorry for the short comment! Really enjoyed the movie quiz!

  2. Duke says:

Let’s hear it for Bet’s new car! Yeah, for Bet! It’s a fine looking addition to the Ponderosa too.

I loved Mr. Middlebrow’s movie quiz although I knew almost none of them. Maybe I’ll do better next time. As always, you two had them pegged.

Internet spam can be very entertaining. My personal favorite is still the royal families wanting to hide money in your bank account. It’s as old as Christmas but I still get them. Many ramble on and on about evil uncles trying to take over the government and all manner of goofy stuff. I once got one two pages long. The english in them is so broken and horrible it would make a good MST3K topic. I think Crow and crew should switch from movies to spam on occasion. I believe the MST3K bunch still have a live touring show although I haven’t seen it.

Welcome news about Buster. I hope he continues to improve and feels better. Thanks for the update, Stennie. No hands on the monitor but I’ll put one on Molly’s scratching post. She has a crush on him anyway because he’s such a handsome fellow.

Huzzah for Buster – glad he’s feeling well/better!

Movie recommendation: “We Made This Movie” – there’s an Online Premiere Show this Thurs, Sept 20th at 6:30pm ET (but it will also be available for download, on Hulu Plus, and Netflix in the future). @thepete & I just saw a pre-screening of it and really liked it. It’s a coming of age story about five high schoolers trying to make a Jackass-like movie, and we see the behind the scenes footage; very metatheatrical, heartfelt, funny, and intelligently-crass. http://www.wemadethismovie.com. I think you gals would like it.

  4. Kelly w/ a Y says:

Gooooo Buster! Give me a B! Give me a U!…You get the point!

Bet loving the new car. I’m getting close myself. I just don’t want to pay for one.

Rehearsal and running club have taken up all of my time lately, gang. Sorry I’ve been absent. Also, I’ve been listening to The Fountainhead on CD in the car for the last few weeks (when I normally listen to the Hucklebug episodes.) I have like 2-3 discs left, then I can get caught up with you guys! Apparently, I wrote a paper on it in either high school or middle school and yet, I don’t remember any of it. I tried 2 years ago to read it and got about 75 pages in and never picked it back up. This time I was determined to finish the damn thing and “book on cd” was the way to go.

  5. Donna & Janet says:

Together we listened to this episode so together we laughed out loud when the dual scratching produced two winners! It was fun hearing your reactions to the “care packages,” as Stennie called them. Sorry to hear about the coffee spill, though; we hope the football preview is still readable. Janet ate our Cadbury gold medal.

Our Olympic flag finally came down this week after the Paralympics Closing Ceremony. We have heard lots from Janet’s Mum about those games and we are very sorry we didn’t have more coveage of them here. All of the Closing Ceremony is on YouTube; Janet has watched some of it and says she cried all through it!

There have also been some great stories about the GamesMakers’ (the volunteers) solid contributions to the success of both Games and so we are even more proud of Janet’s stint in London. One Games Maker took five paralympians from Burkina Faso home with him when they made it to London but then had no money or place to stay.

Keep up the good work with the podcast!

  6. Impressive job on the quiz. You got them all, except #3, which was RISKY BUSINESS.
