So, I was hanging out with a couple of Japanese friends last night who had been watching the Olympics earlier that evening and had wondered why Americans weren’t into the Olympics. I then shrugged and told them I wasn’t into the Olympics. BUT after hearing this week’s show, I will tell them that I know of some Americans who are actually into the Olympics. I’m sure they will be happy to know that some folks in the US actually give a crap about the rest of the world.

I should also add that I was very entertained by listening to you both talk about the Olympics, despite me not giving a crap about the Olympics. :/

Sorry I’ve fallen so far behind! I’ll try to catch up!

  2. We have DAYS (truly…about 46 hours) of Olympics recorded..too busy to sit and watch. so all events (except for gymnastics and diving) are in fast forward…the best way to watch the bike race, swimming (except the last leg) and soccer… (sorry Stennie…)

Sending you and Buster all my love….you have been a good mama…

    love

Olympics? Is that on again? Is that the show with Snooki?

I’m kidding, of course. I wish I could watch more of the events, but all I get is swimming and gymnastics on the evening broadcast, because I work for a living, and don’t want to eat up DVR space with Olympics events I’ll probably never watch. What I’ve seen of the other events are pretty great, especially the controversies. Who ever knew you could cheat at badminton, or really want to?

I did watch a good portion of the opening ceremonies, mostly so I could annoy West Coast people on Twitter about them. As much as I would like to enjoy the opening ceremonies, I always find them nearly unwatchable, except for the torch lighting. I like seeing the Walk of Nations (or whatever) in theory, but whew – it’s endless. Also I would hate to be an expatriate from one of those countries that NBC deemed skipworthy for commercials.
