We are one-and-a-half episodes behind but I immediately thought of Stennie when I read this year’s Queen’s birthday honours list. Hundreds of awards are given out for various reasons but two really caught my eye.
One, an OBE (Order of the British Empire) was awarded to Armando Iannucci! This quote was in The Guardian: “Armando Iannucci, 48, who wrote the Westminster sitcom series The Thick of It, warned [that] his OBE, for services to broadcasting, would not prevent him from continuing to ridicule politicians. ‘I just hope it’s not an attempt by the government to stop me because that’s not going to happen,’ he joked.”
The other Hucklebug-worthy OBE winner was Gareth Malone!
I have a question..(isn’t that what you’re supposed to do “In school?”
Drive-in theatres that broadcast on FM radio, doesn’t that drain the battery? Or cause some people to have to run their engines?

Zoe is headed to Israel tomorrow (Saturday) for the Birthright Trip (look it up or I’ll tell you about it next week) for the next ten days….pray for peace in the mideast, please..
Speaking of Haters…I’m going to see “miranda” the concoction of Colleen Ballinger, a very talented young woman here in Tacoma who plays across the country and CRACKS ME UP. One of her catch phrases (which I’m sure she did not “invent” is “Haters, Back off!” I am going to buy one of those t-shirts when I see her at the laugh factory in Kirkland on Wednesday….
And re: International House Hunters….oh Stennie, Stennie, Stennie…my friend’s daughter and her boyfriend were on the show, and they DID move ALL THEIR STUFF OUT so they looked at the place unfurnished. And in fact, of the three places they saw, the loved two and dissed one, and picked, you guessed it, the one they dissed. go figure.

Janet leaves for London next Sunday, July 1, and will be there SEVEN weeks! I have a hands-on-the-monitor request. The Opening Ceremony of the London Olympics is five weeks from tonight! As a volunteer (excuse me, a “GamesMaker”), Janet has a chance to win a free ticket to one of two technical rehearsals for the Opening Ceremony! So what if the athletes aren’t going to be there; the athletes parade is really secondary to the pageantry, right? I would just love for her to get this opportunity!
