Hi! I’m commenting as I’m listening here, so maybe I haven’t gotten to it yet. However,when discussing Chicago, you forgot to mention “the windy city.” And the stretch of Michigan Avenue with all the high-end shops is called the Magnificent mile.

Speaking of TV, has anyone seen Up All Night yet? I love me some Will Arnet and will continue to watch the show until it is cancelled – no matter how bad it gets.
I have a Fuck Off by Proxy please – my boss, “H.F.C.” again. She sucks.
The “Would You Rathers” were particularly good this week. I will try to answer some of these – the ones I understand, anyhow.
Ok – Crutons vs. Soup. Crutons. I couldn’t bear drowning, let alone drowning in hot, creamy, lumpy soup.
Bull and.Lion vs. Donald Trump Hair. I’d go for the DTH. The snake will hopefully strike quickly and in the neck. That would be quicker.
Rodeo Clown vs. Danny – hmm. Danny did a radio show here 20 years ago, and it was good fun. Maybe if I worked for him, he’d normalize. At least no animals would have to die.
Chad Johnson seems to be a football player. I’d have him as my negotiator. He could ram someone down.
Basil-scented farts don’t sound so bad. And I do have a vast coaster collection. I don’t know what Arkenoid is either and Tony Randall is dead. So no worries there.
I’d also go for the raspberry b.o. I don’t have b.o. ever, but if I had to have it, raspberry wouldn’t be a bad choice. Tic Tac booogers would sting.

What are you ladies doing for Thanksgiving? It is a huge part of your family ritual? ThePete & I are staying home and cooking turkey and stuffing only, since we love those parts of the traditional meal (screw cranberry sauce!) and we’re having a friend’s home made pumpkin pie.
I’m slowly catching up! From ep 248: Yes, Bet, you are correct, my first car was a Mazda RX7. Twenty years makes the brain fuzzy (that was my car in high school).
Zaphod update: he’s actually back to normal pretty much. I’m giving him a twice daily IV needle (100 cc per session), and that seems to be doung the trick. I was doing a session while I listened to your encouraging words in ep 248 so we both send our thanks! 🙂
Totally with you guys on Coldplay. I love a couple songs by them but mostly I’m meh. Feel the same as Stennie on Oasis, but love their song “Falling Down”. Anyone who knows me can tell why I love that song based on the lyrics, but the music is pretty good, too.
From ep 249: Sten, isn’t the guy who dresses up as Superman a huge fan to the point where he owns a buttload of Superman collectibles including on of Reeve’s costumes? I think I heard that he even got plastic surgery to look more like Reeve. We have costumed characters in Times Square. All the obvious choices plus a black Batman. Not just the costume, the dude inside is black. When I saw him last week, he had loads of young women around him. I think Time-Warner may have missed out on an interesting casting choice.
I would expect Republicans/conservatives/etc to think equally poorly of Muslim extremists and Athesits. Ironic, since so far there has yet to be any Atheist extremists that have turned to violence.
Yay! Thanks for the You Rule! Bleaching day was a little bumpy (missed a spot) but it was so platinum that a few people who had seen me as a blond were surprised at ow white I got it. The only catch is that it’s so light that on camera it’s almost invisible, thus making me look like I’m bald. :/ I may be going back to my natural shade once I am out of bleach.

All right, still almost two eps behind but it’s 8:40 on a Friday night and I want to make sure I get my shoutout this week 🙂
Just time to say ‘hey’ and get my shout-out. And two things:
1) In addition to being contributors to, rather than merely consumers of, pop culture, as consumers go, you’re no slouches. I would call you pop-culture connoisseurs. You are thoughtful and deliberate about the things you watch/listen to/read and you discuss them with verve and passion and wit.
Which brings me to 2): one of your best moments, which you didn’t mention, was during that episode a few months ago where you talked about favorite movie moments. Much as you love TV, I think it’s movies that really get you both into the zone. That was easily in the top five episodes I’ve heard (and I think I’ve been around since about ep. 65 or so. Whichever corresponds with the announcement of CD Mix 4).

More on 250: I’ve been following the OWS, since they started and only went down there one day thanks to a coincidence that put me in Times Square on the same day as the OWS crowd (hit up my Google+ profile to see some videos I shot: http://thepete.com/+ ). I don’t think protesting really works (I’ve tried) but I love that they’re hanging in there and raising such a big stink. I just hope it all inspires permanent change without more people getting hurt. So far I ain’t holding my breath.
I thought I mentioned that I saw Dean Spanley but did not care for it. Maybe that was the Whites I mentioned? I guess it felt like a one-joke movie.
Yeah, sex lives of tv characters is one of my favorite moments. Probably, the rough sex/Ward Cleaver reference was what hooked me on the Hucklebug. I also enjoyed the Obama/innauguration episode. That was one of Jay ThePal’s first appearances in the media 😉
On to ep 251: Is Eddie Izzard in The Hobbit? Lots of running barefoot in New Zealand? Not sure what else there is to do in New Zealand when you’re barefoot but be in a Hobbit-related film.
Bet I’m so sorry to hear about your back! Make sure you take care of your back. I know from Sierra’s experience that back stuff can get really bad if you don’t deal with it head-on.
In total agreement with both of you on Paterno and Google going evil. I actually clicked on the feedback link on gmail and ripped them a new one about the changes. The Paterno stuff I just shrugged and shook my head. Was worried more about the Occupy kids in Oakland getting gassed. Though, I definitely think Ashton should not just quit Twitter but public life all together.
