  1. Lyndie says:

Thank you for my official Hucklebug kazee!! Marla did give it to me awhile ago and I’ve been meaning to thank you. I apologize for the lateness. It’s awesome.

  2. Still listening, but here are some punch lines I love:

    – And then the penguin says, “What–no, it’s just vanilla ice cream!”

    – So then the Rastafarian says, “No, mon. Mine says ‘Welcome to Jamaica.'”

    – Ring, hell. That’s my watch.
(I don’t actually know the setup for this one, or if one even exists. It doesn’t really need one, does it?)

  3. LilyG says:

I just saw a headline on ABCnews.com that I thought would make you feel good: “Heidi, Spencer Broke, Living With Parents”.

    Punchline: I’m a frayed knot…..

Lots for me to gab about in this episode!

I remember a scene in that Albert Einstein movie with Walter Matthau where they opened his closet – Einstein was notorious for owning 20 black suits and white shirts, white socks, etc. He didn’t want to spend time making decisions on what to wear.

LOL on your Laurence of Arabia tips…! And I agree that Rocky should be seen on the big screen, which is why I’m a virgin – I HAVEN’T SEEN IT YET!!!

The Apple, one must understand, is nowhere near a diamond. Yet, it is a fabulously shaped piece of coal dipped in glitter and hung from the earlobe of a mad German drag queen. So, it’s pretty awesome.

Ah while I probably will not perform Oolie, I will be sure to record my rehearsals in the role so you can hear me at least sing through “You Can Always Count on Me” πŸ™‚

And I have only seen the slight clip of Neil Patrick Harris in “Smurfs” via the Daily Show. He looks as incredulously “what the fuck is this” as I was watching it. I give NPH a pass on this one – he rarely can do any wrong in my book. Oh and the next movie to come out from our 80s experience? Battleship: The Movie. Not shitting you.

“If I believed in God, I’d be pissed at him today.” – can someone make a Tshirt with this on it?!?!? Please?!?! You can put “Hucklebug.com” underneath it as advertising.

And speaking of plugging – my new favorite thing is my friend’s website-blog “www.MyPreciousRoommate.com”. Check it out and enjoy.

Stennie – you havnen’t seen “Wizard of OZ”on the big screen yet?!?! Oh jesus. Last comment: one of Pete’s best surprise Birthday evenings was taking me to see a screening of “Singing in the Rain” (my favorite movie ever) on the big screen. Major points. Obviously, I think 2001: A Space Odyssey is in the running on the big screen – it’s so meditative and beautiful, especially at the Cineramadome in Hollywood.

I’m ignoring the fact that you thought the Gotta Dance number was too long….

  5. siskita says:

And by Rocky above, I meant “Rocky Horror Picture Show.” I kinda don’t want to see the sweat from Sylvester Stallone in high detail on the big screen…

  6. Janet says:

Going to the movies these days is a little disappointing because the screens aren’t as big as they were in the movie palaces of old. That being said, my movie-to-see-on-the-big-screen is……….Zulu!! The warriors coming over the ridge at Roark’s Drift is heartstopping. Zulu is definitely in my Top 5 Favorite Movies and I love Michael Caine. He is from the east end of London and has a cockney accent so it was ironic that in his first starring role, he played an upperclass officer with a posh accent.

The one scene to-be-seen-on-the-big-screen is the opening of The Sound of Music when Julie Andrews is dancing and singing in the mountain meadow with the backdrop of The Alps.

  7. Donna says:

Bet, do you remember the Shelor Chevrolet ads when the little Shelor girls appeared for his dealership and how awful they were? I think I was in college when one of those girls committed suicide.

Janet and I both agree that the big ball scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark is great on the big screen. And speaking of that scene and that movie, did everyone hear today’s “Sounds of Summers” segment on All Things Considered?! Could he be a secret listener of The Hucklebug?

My movie-to-see-on-the-big-screen is Out of Africa. The flying scenes were amazing and that’s why we should care about them wanting to put a damn highway through the middle of the Serengeti!

Neil Patrick Harris was very good on his recent guest judge stint on So You Think You Can Dance.

  8. You guys should cut NPH some slack. The guy has banked so much awesomeness cred that it’s not the end of the world if he does a paycheck movie. Besides, he’s got a wedding to pay for (Squee!)

  9. Michelle says:

Ugh. I’m just behind this week. I do love you though – and I’ll listen this weekend so I don’t fall too behind!
