Jeff-san wa Tokyo ni imasu! (Jeff-san is in Tokyo!)

Well, he is moving to Tokyo any day now from Matsudo,Chiba Prefecture, but I don’t know how to say that yet. So, yes, he’s in Japan! He’s originally from Georgia, though you wouldn’t know by his accent.

Thank you for the podcast plugs!!

They screened “The Apple” at the Nuart, the New Bev and the Egyptian. I’ve seen it in each place, I believe. Every time I watch the trailer I am reminded of just how flippin’ crazy that movie is. And yay! I’m glad it’s in the lead! But I’ll happily watch something else if it’s crazier.

I have not seen “The Straight Story” but I hear it makes you cry. Plus, didn’t the star commit suicide?

Bet, I saw a pic of the hats you were talking about at the royal wedding and you’re right about them looking like they were out of a scifi movie–and I mean that in a bad way. No self-respecting scifi film would include hats like those. It looked like those ladies had a quantum flux on their face.

Yeah, Trump is a huge douche.

    He’s a huouche (hyoosh).

Um, that New Favorite intro is fantastic. Will there be more?

David Lynch, take him or leave him, but he’s usually doing something interesting. INLAND EMPIRE was a slog, but it’s not that far removed from the pleasures of MULHOLLAND DR. In case you’re interested: a nice companion to STRAIGHT STORY is THE ELEPHANT MAN – full of compassion and only a taste of Lynchy oddness.

Been meaning to see THE APPLE for years now, so I’m game. Skype rather than a live-tweet?

On the topic of bad movies, I participated again in this year’s White Elephant Blogathon, full of questionable flicks held just in time for April Fool’s. I picked CAVEMAN for someone else to watch, and got a Joe Don Baker film in return.
Might be some other candidates if this becomes a regular Hucklebug thing: http://opalfilms.blogspot.com/2011/04/white-elephant-2011-super-post.html

Someone also needs to make me watch GYMKATA one of these days, which features Olympian gymnast Kurt Thomas, and yes, there is a pommel horse fight scene.

Obama’s had a big week, huh? Goes from taunting Trump to icing Osama. He probably deserves a cookie.

  3. Krizzer says:

Glad you ladies like the intro – yes, the male voice is my boyfriend Les. We had fun doing that, he actually asked me the other day “so, what are we going to record THIS weekend?”

I have been long of the opinion that the worst movie in the world is Howard the Duck. I submit it for HB Bad Movie night.

Keep it up gals, you rock my week!

  4. Stennie’s story about the actors preparing for their auditions made me think of (I think it was) Passion Fish:

*I* didn’t ask for the anal probe.
I didn’t *ask* for the anal probe.
I didn’t ask for the *anal* probe.

Happy mother’s day–and that includes those with feline/canine/ursine/porcine (and any other -ine that elicits and receives maternal love) children–to all the Hucklemothers!
