I did NOT recommend Waterworld. That is cruel and unusual punishment. Robin Hood, possibly, but never Waterworld. That was Duke.

I have had those moments when I didn’t recognize myself in the mirror. I think we have pictures of ourselves in our heads, and then life gets in the way.

Bad movie musicals — Xanadu? Grease 2?

And by the time you do this, you should be able to answer at least one of the following questions: Wasn’t the dress pretty? Can you believe the horse did that? Just what WAS on that hat? Wow, I can’t believe how drunk they were… and YAY! It’s Over!

    Thanks for the kind words!!

PLUG: http://j.thepete.com is my Japanese-themed blog and the podcast is called NBG J-cast (NBG stands for Ni Baka Gaikokujin which is Japanese for 2 Idiot Foreigners). If you are into Japan at all, give us a listen!

Jeff-san has actually listened to the Hucklebug and says he enjoys it quite a bit. Don’t be offended that he hasn’t left comments, though–he’s usually on the train when he listens to my solo podcast (PLUG: the 666cast available at http://website666.com) and he doesn’t own a smartphone yet so he can’t leave comments on the go. By the time he gets home, he forgets what he was going to comment about. Haven’t we all been there? I think so.

My cat Ecks is the first cat I’ve had who was remorseful, but I think it might be because I raised him one-on-one for his first 2 years of life. So I think getting orders from just one owner for so long imprinted on him or something, I have no idea. I’m just blue-skyin’ πŸ˜‰

Bet, sorry about your escalator dilemma! I’ve had weird instances like that where I can’t quite make a choice that should be really obvious. Like I’ll wrestle with what to make for dinner when the choices are boring and boring.

Stennie, that is creepy–I don’t think I’ve looked in the mirror and thought that. The closest I could come is sometimes waking up in a strange place and completely forgetting how I got there. Of course, one time it was my apartment. Don’t know what was up there.

OH, man, the pressure’s on!! I have no idea what to suggest for bad movies. The 2012 movies are pretty fun. I watched all three of the ones they have on Netflix Instant. I’m not referring to the 2012 “documentaries” (there is an ENDLESS flow of those), as cheesy fun as they are. I’m talking about the “adventure” movies. The one with Dale Midkiff is probably my favorite of the three because they somehow shoehorn (a truly blind faith in) Christianity in with Mayans for a 2012 end-of-the-world scenario. The John Cusack one was pretty bad-but-fun, as well, though. And they’re all on Netflix Instant or I wouldn’t have bothered.

WAIT–I GOT IT: “The Apple.” It’s probably the best worst movie I’ve ever seen. It’s kind of impossible to fully explain “The Apple”. It’s a futuristic musical about the temptation of big money on true love… or something like that. It was directed by Menahem Golan, the “brilliant” mind behind such “classics” as “The Delta Force” starring Chuck Norris and Lee Marvin and “Enter the Ninja” starring nobody you’ve heard of.

“The Apple” is so awesome Golan claims he doesn’t even remember making it. To try to get more people to buy tickets, they were giving away the soundtrack records to theater goers–who, upon leaving the theater, *gave the records back*. Here’s the trailer:

Oh and it’s on Netflix instant. πŸ™‚

Wow, I hope I didn’t overhype it. Maybe Siskita can come up with something better.

I like Prince music. But I don’t *love* Prince music. I do agree that any copyright-enforcement action is not a good idea for Prince–or anyone, really.

I LOVED “Twin Peaks” but I only got into it in season 2 and had to watch a friend’s VHS tapes of the 1st season. I hated the ending and the movie, but we talked about Lynch a lot in film school and I was expecting to hate the ending and the movie. Lynch is a guy who likes to fuck with everyone. Twin Peaks is no exception, but I enjoyed it anyway. Not a fan of his other films, though “Elephant Man” was pretty solidly done.

Every time I think of Nic Cage now I only think of this 10 second clip: http://youtu.be/d4MqTCIDKhU

Sierra and I can do Skype–I bet there’s even a way for us to stream the audio live while we do it so other folks who don’t want to call in can listen in.

(This is what happens when I am procrastinating and happen to turn on the Hucklebug–I leave a GIANT-ASS comment.)

  3. Capt. A says:

I hope you distinguish between assholes and assholes.

  4. LilyG says:

There’s a perfect topic for Bet tonight — those hats. What were they thinking? I know you want to be a lady in a hat, but not some of those.

And I have seen “The Apple”. It probably is one of the oddest movies ever.

  5. Iona Traylor says:

Officially caught up! And a giant TYJ to your not changing a damn bit! Bad 90 minute movie Dracon,,, you could sing the weak and sad song through it. Although, I still think Kevin Spacey owes me my damn 9 bucks for K-Pax.
Good to be back in the know. I do not trust google translate a’tall, in fact have never had voice recognition luck. Could be the accent, could be tone. Bet, you are entirely correct about Twin Peaks, no where else to go, and hopefully will get to see you for a hot second and meet Milo..
Stennie, you’re not crazy. I looked in the mirror this morning and sadly, I saw a youngish Johnny Cash lookin back at me.
